Business activities in London, Brussels, France, Italy, the United States, South Africa, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia have developed international experience, contacts and legal opportunities which are of considerable benefit to clients. 

Since commencing legal practice in 1976, Charles has gained wide experience in many facets of law, now specialising in trusts, tax, farm succession planning, business and company law work. Asset protection, tax, succession and strategic planning (for wealth creation) are included in the total solutions approach to meet the requirement of each client. 

Charles has a reputation for quality advice and documentation. Appearances in the Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court, Taxation Review Authority, Family Court and various Tribunals have given Charles a keen understanding of all facets of law. 

Charles is a full member of the London based Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners, the Institute of Directors and New Zealand Law Society. He has been a director of many companies and held many trusteeships. Charles has also been a speaker at many seminars on trusts and has presented papers for the Law Society, Institute of Chartered Accountants conferences/seminars and at International conferences.

Shaghil completed his law degree at Waikato University in 2007 and is fluent in English and Hindi.

Shaghil has joined Fletcher Law to work with Charles, assisting with all aspects of property conveyancing including bank securities and plans to learn as many of the skills relating to trusts, tax and the law so as to become one of the best lawyers providing asset protection, succession planing and tax planning advice in the Waikato.

Dushan completed his law degree at the University of Otago and joined the litigation and  dispute resolution team at Fletcher Law in 2009. He also worked at Fletcher Law while at Law School during his summer vacations, from 2006 to 2008. Dushan has appeared on various matters at the Court of Appeal, High Court and the District Court.

Dushan is fluent in all Slavic languages and, like his lawyer mother, is keen to make a special contribution to the legal profession. He is passionate about civil and commercial litigation, working with Charles and the team of specialist Barristers.

Nikki ensures the smooth running of the accounting section of the firm, managing all financial settlements and interest bearing deposits for clients. As our longest serving staff member, Nikki personally knows most of our clients and ensures the maintenance of our high levels of personal service. Nikki has had many years experience in law offices and has completed training in all of the requirements for Trust Account administration run by the New Zealand Law Society and its Audit personal.

Roxy is an experienced PA and secretary. She has enjoyed a diverse background in a variety of administrative positions, in law, media, advertising & marketing, property development, manufacturing, sales and retail. Because of this she can relate to a wide variety of clients and their requirements.

Roxy is very much a family person, compassionate and understanding, and quick to listen to the needs and questions of individuals. She has worked for Fletcher Law since 2007 and assists our legal team with their work and file management.

Clients will often have Roxy working in the background for them and she will be able to answer most queries on progress with a current file.

Kathryne is Charles eldest daughter and originally started working for Fletcher Law in December 1997 as an office junior and continued working part-time as she completed her Bachelor in Media Arts majoring in Photography (2000).  Kathryne later went on to complete her Bachelor of Applied Social Science majoring in Social Work in 2010.

In April 2010 Kathryne returned to work for Fletcher Law part time.  Prior to this she worked as a social worker for the Ministry of Social Development for 3 1/2 years in care and protection and youth justice.

Kathryne works part-time and is available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week.

Debbie joined our team in September 2011 as our receiptionist, legal secretary and personal assistant to Shaghil and Dushan.   She is an experienced office administrator, legal secretary, and qualified legal executive (the latter with seven years experience prior to having her two children).  

Debbie has considerable knowledge of residential conveyancing and is able to assist clients with queries that they may have concerning their own sale/purchase or refinancing transactions.  

Debbie is our first port of contact for clients, she is energetic, friendly and always willing to assist clients and our team to ensure that our office runs smoothly.

Steve is supports Fletcher Law as a Trust Asset Manager. He was born in England and moved to NZ in 1990 to marry a kiwi from Cambridge.  Trained as a civil engineer he has Ph.D in computational hydraulics (Engineering) he ran his own business in NZ for 13 years. As a private investor Steven understands the prudent investment management approach and his enthusiasm is now focused on analyzing money flows for investment in property, fixed deposits, equities and shares.   Steve is one of NZ's first accredited investment fiduciaries (through the University of Pittsburg).  He has worked with a number of accountancy and law firms throughout the the North Island bringing the prudent practices to reality. In 2006 Steve joined Fletcher Law to assist clients to make more from their investments and lifestyle aspirations and now provides that support on a contract basis.
